Here at BCTS we offer counselling training from intro. through to Level 5. We run CPCAB qualification which are Ofqual regulated. We have been running CPCAB courses since 2013 and find them robust and user-friendly for our students.
Importantly they are recognised by The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and other membership bodies giving students a clear and smooth pathway into the profession.
Level 2 is our entry level course. You don’t need any prior experience or qualifications to gain entry onto this training. Level 2 runs for 30 weeks; 3 hours a week so it spans one academic year.
Level 3 is the progression route and provides a deeper understanding of counselling theory. Our Level 3 runs for 32 weeks, 3 hours a week, and includes a one-day workshop.
Level 2 and 3 provide the foundation for progression onto Level 4.
Level 4 is the professional qualification which trains you to become a qualified counsellor. At level 4 you go into placement, working with clients. It is a 2-year training, one full day a week and is an in depth and rigorous training preferring you to work with vulnerable clients.
At Level 4 you become a student member of the BACP and upon completion and Individual member. In order to go onto the voluntary register for counsellors and psychotherapists you need to sit the BACP’s Certificate of Proficiency test and then you become a full member of BACP.
From here it is your choice as to whether you undertake a Level 5 training.
